Health insurance ads' dynamic data feeds

Get details about required, recommended, and optional Healthcare ads feed attributes.

A dynamic feed file is a spreadsheet that contains attributes. This file tells Microsoft Advertising the information you want inserted in your ads and under which condition each attribute should be inserted. Some attributes will be featured in the ad itself.

Upload a feed file
  1. From the top menu, select Tools > Business data > Dynamic data feeds.
  2. Select Upload > Health insurance.
  3. Enter the Name and select the feed file to upload.
  4. You can Upload and preview to view your changes or Upload and apply to create your feed.
Schedule your feed file
  1. From the top menu, select Tools > Business data > Dynamic data feeds.
  2. Select the feed file you want to create a schedule for.
  3. Select the Schedules tab.
  4. Select Schedule feed uploads and enter the scheduling information and URL for your feed.
  5. Select Save.

Dynamic feed file attributes

Your dynamic feed file is a spreadsheet comprised of attributes, which we use to generate your ads. Below is a list of required, recommended, and optional attributes for Health insurance ads' feed files.

Your feed file should be tab-delimited plain text saved as any of the following file types: CSV, TSV, XLSX, or ZIP.

Required attributes

Your dynamic data feed file must include the following attributes:

Attribute Description Example
Description A short description of the health insurance plan. A public, low-cost health insurance plan.
Final URL The same domain as your website. Must begin with http:// or https://.

Name The name of the health insurance plan. If you only wish to promote the plan type, please fill in "N/A" for this attribute. Medicare Elite Plan (HMO)
Target campaign The name of the targeted Health insurance ads campaign.

In addition to targeting a campaign, you can also target a specific ad group within the campaign. See Target ad group below.

Health_Insurance
Type The type of health insurance plan. If this is generic (not type-specific), please fill in "Medicare" for this attribute. Medicare Advantage

Recommended attributes

Your dynamic data feed file may include any of the following attributes, which we highly recommend:

Attribute Description Example
Callout Any callout of special attributes about the specific plan or type of plan. Freedom to see any provider nationwide that accepts Medicare.
Image URLs The URLs for the image used in your ad. Must begin with http:// or https://.

We support PNG (recommended), BMP, GIF, JPG, or TIFF, all of which must be saved in RGB color code with an ICC profile.

The recommended aspect ratio: 1.59:1.

The minimum image size: 476 x 249 pixels. We recommend that you upload the largest image possible.

Target ad group

The name of the targeted ad group.

If you don't specify a target ad group, we will apply this feed to all ad groups in your targeted campaign. See Target campaign above.

Optional attributes

Your dynamic data feed file may include any of the following optional attributes:

Associated carriers The insurance companies associated with this plan or type of plans, separated by “;”. Humana; United Healthcare
Country The country or countries where this plan is eligible, separated by “;”.

County The county or counties where this plan is eligible, separated by “;”.

Coverage A short description of what the plan or type of plans cover. Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
Custom parameters Include up to three key and value pairs, which automatically fill up in the click URL.

List the key and value pairs within braces. Each term should be set in quotation marks. Separate each phrase of the pair with a colon and separate key and value pairs with commas and without any spaces.

The maximum limit is 16 characters or 200 bytes.

Dental coverage Whether or not the plan includes dental insurance coverage. “Yes” or “No”
Final mobile URL The item's mobile-optimized landing page when you have a different URL for mobile and desktop traffic.

Is federally registered Whether or not the healthcare plan is federally registered.

Please note that state licensing is separate from federal registration. For example, you can be licensed in-state but not federally registered in that state.

Is government exchange Whether or not the healthcare plan is sold on a government exchange (for which the federal government subsidizes premiums).

Organization category How you identify your organization, either “provider” or “broker.” Provider
Other disclosure The states where this provider / broker is not certified or any other important disclosure required. California; New York
