Adding images or videos is a great way to engage with your audience and drive clicks. Below are the image and video requirements for social posts, image, and video ads.

Facebook

The following are requirements for Facebook images.

  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Supported file formats: .jpg, .png, .gif (without animation)
  • Aspect ratio: N/A
  • Image resolution: N/A
  • Maximum number of images: 10
Note

Various aspect ratios of the image required for ads will be automatically cropped by Microsoft Advertising.

The following are requirements for Facebook videos.

  • Maximum file size: 1MB
  • Supported file formats: .mp4, .mov, .avi
  • Aspect ratio: Between 9x16 and 16x9
  • Duration: Maximum 20 minutes

Instagram

The following are requirements for Instagram images.

  • Maximum file size: 8MB
  • Supported file formats: .jpg
  • Aspect ratio: Must range between 4:5 to 1.91:1
  • Minium width: 320 (will be scaled up to the minimum as needed)
  • Maximum width: 1440 (will be scaled down to the maximum as needed)
  • Height: Can vary depending on the width and aspect ratio
Note

Microsoft Advertising does not support videos in Instagram posts.

LinkedIn

The following are requirements for LinkedIn images.

  • Maximum file size: 9MB
  • Supported file formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png
Note

LinkedIn doesn't allow videos in posts.
