Use goal categories to segment your conversion goals

Learn about goal categories and how to use them to organize your conversion goals.

This setting for conversion goals is mandatory. When you edit an existing goal, you will need to assign a category to it.

Before you choose a goal type, you must choose a goal category. Use goal categories to segment your goals and their performance metrics in a way that is meaningful to your business. Goal categories don't affect performance—they are just here to help keep your conversion goals organized.

Your options for goal category depend on your conversion type. We have classified the goal categories as either Sales categories, Leads categories, or Other categories.
