Add Action Extensions to your ad

Add clickable button to your ad with Action Extensions.

Add a call-to-action button in your text ad with Action Extensions. Clicking on the button lets customers instantly interact with the ad to place an order, book a hotel, send a message, and more. There are currently 70 preset action types you can choose from. You can take a look at the list of all action types here.

This extension is clickable and will appear next to your ad’s description. You can use Action Extensions with other ad extensions.

Ability to set up in: All Bing markets.

Serves in: All Bing markets.

Due to character limit restrictions, not all action types are supported for all 12 languages. Check out the full list of action types here.

Action Extensions can be created or edited at the account, campaign, or ad group level. To select the level you want to make the changes in, select Account, Campaign, or Ad group below the Ad Extensions tab.

How do I create a new Action Extension? expando image

  1. From the main menu on the left, click All campaigns.
  2. From the page menu, click Campaigns or Ad groups.
  3. In the table, click the campaign or ad group you want to add an extension to.
  4. From the page menu, click Ads & extensions.
  5. From the top of the page, click Extensions.
  6. If not already selected, click Action Extensions and select Account, Campaign, or Ad group.
  7. Click Create ad extension > Add new Action Extension.
  8. Select the Language you want the Action Extension to appear in.
  9. Select the Action Text.
  10. Enter the Action URL and Mobile URL, which is the link the customer will be taken to once they click the button.
  11. Optional: If you want to track how visitors got to your website, you can enter Tracking template and Custom parameters details under URL options.
  12. Optional: If you want to set a schedule for when you want the extension to run, enter scheduling details under Selected days and hours.
  13. Click Save.

  3. If not already selected, click Action Extensions and select Account, Campaign, or Ad group.
  4. Click Create ad extension.
  5. Select the campaign or ad group you want to add the extension to.
  6. Click Add new Action Extension.
  7. Select the Language you want the Action Extension to appear in.
  8. Select the Action Text.

  3. In the table, click the campaign or ad group you want to add an extension to.
  4. From the page menu, click Ads & extensions.
  5. From the top of the page, click Extensions.
  6. If not already selected, click Action Extensions.
  7. Click Create ad extension > Add new Action Extension.
  8. From the Available Action Extensions list, select the Action Extension that you want to associate with this campaign or ad group.
  9. Click Save.

  7. In the table, find the Action Extension you want to edit and select the checkbox.
  8. Click Edit > Edit an extension.
  9. Make your changes and click Save.

  5. From the top of the page, click Extensions.

  7. In the table, find the Action Extension you want to delete and select the checkbox.
  8. Click Edit > Delete association.

  4. Find the Action Extension you want to delete and then select the checkbox to its left.
  5. Click Edit and select Delete association.

  9. From the Available Action Extensions list, select the Action Extension that you want to associate with the selected campaigns or ad groups, and click Done.
  10. Select the Action Extensions from the Availabile Action Extensions table.
  11. Click Save.
